Rice casserole with sausages

Ingredients for 5 servings:

  • 200 g rice, cooked
  • 250 g tomatoes
  • 4 eggs
  • 250 ml milk
  • some salt and pepper
  • nutmeg
  • 4 tbsp cheese, grated
  • 1 bunch of chives
  • 2 pairs of sausages, frankfurters or wieners

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

Slice the sausages, peel and quarter the tomatoes, combine both with the cooked rice, and pour into a casserole dish. Whisk the eggs with milk, salt, pepper, nutmeg, and the finely chopped chives and pour over the rice mixture. Sprinkle the casserole with grated hard cheese and bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (400°F) for about 25 minutes. Serve fresh from the oven.
