Gratin of sausage-filled tortiglioni à la Didi

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 200 g pasta (tortiglioni)
  • 100 g meat sausage
  • 1 can of vegetables (Mexico Mix 340 g)
  • 3 tsp broth, granulated
  • 2 cups whipped cream
  • 150 g mashed potatoes
  • 150 g cheese, grated
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 2 liters of water

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 35 minutes; Total time approx. 50 minutes

Cook the tortiglioni in 2 liters of water with 2 teaspoons of salt and 1 teaspoon of granulated broth for 12 minutes. Drain and set aside. Cut the sausage into strips and fill the tortiglioni with them (place a strip of sausage in each pasta). Mix one can of Mexican mix into the filled pasta and pour the mixture into a baking dish. Mix one cup of heavy cream with 1 teaspoon of granulated broth and heat gently. Then pour over the pasta mixture. Mix the second cup of cream with the grated cheese, mashed potatoes, and 1 teaspoon of broth and spread over the pasta. Bake the casserole in a preheated oven at 180°C (fan oven) for 20 minutes.
