Vegetable Pan with Prawns

The perfect vegetable pan with prawns recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 1 kilogram Shrimp peeled deveined
  • 0,5 piece Chinese cabbage
  • Broccoli
  • Cauliflower
  • 1 piece Zucchini
  • 1 piece Onions
  • 1 piece Paprika
  • 2 cups Brown rice
  • 1 toe Garlic
  • Salt and pepper
  • Olive oil
  1. Boil rice in a saucepan until cooked through. The rule is: 1 amount of rice to 2 amounts of water. You can also season the rice with salt while cooking.
  2. At the same time put the onions, peppers, zucchini and cabbage in a pan with olive oil, cover with a lid and cook.
  3. Peel the prawns, if there is still a shell, and cut in half, but only just before the tail. This creates a butterfly shape when frying.
  4. After the vegetables have shrunk a bit in the pan, you can add broccoli and cauliflower. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Put the lid back on and continue cooking.
  5. Fry the prawns in a second pan with olive oil. Just before the prawns are done, add the salt and garlic. This step should always be done at the end, because this way the salt cannot remove too much liquid and the shrimp stay nice and juicy.
  6. Now arrange the rice, vegetables and prawns on a plate and you’re done!
