Fish fillet rolls in onion cream sauce

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 5 fish fillets, e.g. plaice
  • 5 slice(s) ham, thin
  • 5 slices of mozzarella
  • some lemon juice
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt
  • Pepper, white
  • some oil
  • 1 small onion(s), chopped
  • 125 ml white wine
  • 1 cup whipped cream
  • 1 pinch(s) of sugar
  • possibly cornstarch (Mondamin) to bind
  • Cayenne pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Wash the fish fillets under running water, pat dry, drizzle with lemon juice and Worcestershire sauce, and season with salt and freshly ground white pepper. Top each fillet with a slice of ham and mozzarella, roll up, secure with a toothpick, and let it rest in the refrigerator for about 10 minutes. Melt the oil in a pan, fry the peeled and finely chopped onion, deglaze with white wine, pour in the heavy cream, and bring to a boil while stirring. Season well with lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, salt, freshly ground white pepper, sugar, and cayenne pepper. Place the plaice fillet rolls in the sauce, cover, and cook over moderate heat for about 15 minutes. Place the rolls on a serving platter, cover with the onion cream sauce, and serve with a side dish (e.g., parsley potatoes and salad).
