Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 500 g potatoes
  • 1 large kohlrabi
  • 4 thick carrots
  • 250 ml cream
  • salt and pepper
  • nutmeg
  • 200 g gratin cheese, e.g. Gouda or Gruyere, Emmental
  • 1 garlic clove(s)
  • Fat for the mold

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 20 minutes

Potatoes, kohlrabi, carrots

Wash the potatoes, peel if necessary, and slice them, as well as the kohlrabi. Grate the carrots after cleaning them. Grease a gratin dish and line it alternately with kohlrabi and potato slices. Finally, top with the grated carrots. Mix the cream with salt, pepper, and freshly ground nutmeg. Peel and chop 1-2 cloves of garlic, if desired, and mix into the sauce. Pour the sauce over the vegetables and scatter the grated cheese on top. Cook everything in a preheated oven on the middle rack at approximately 170°C (fan oven).
