Soak the bread roll in water, pick the leaves from the thyme, peel the onions, and finely dice one of them. Now knead the minced meat with the squeezed-out bread roll, the egg, and the diced onion, and season with salt, pepper, thyme, and paprika. Form eight meatballs and fry them in hot clarified butter for about 6 minutes on each side. Slice the remaining onions into rings and dust with flour. Drain the pears and cut them into wedges. Fry the bacon until crispy, then place on kitchen paper. Fry the onion rings in the bacon fat. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius. Place the meatballs in an ovenproof pan, arrange the pear slices on top, and finally top with the cheese slices. Bake the meatballs for 10 minutes, then top with the bacon slices and onion rings to serve.
