- 1 bunch parsley, flat, finely chopped
- salt and pepper
- 1 tsp cumin, ground
- 3 tbsp flour, for turning
- 6 tbsp olive oil
- 600 g tomatoes, or equivalent amount of canned tomatoes
- ⅛ liter red wine
- 1 tsp sugar
- 200 g feta cheese
Instructions
Working time approx. 45 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes
Mix the minced meat, soaked and squeezed white bread, the egg, garlic cloves, onions, and half the parsley well. Season with salt, pepper, and caraway seeds. Now, using approximately 1 1/2 tablespoons of the meat mixture, form approximately 24-30 small sausages or balls with wet hands. Coat them in flour. Fry the sausages in batches in the hot oil until browned, then drain on kitchen paper and place in a baking dish. Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 180°C. Now either peel and dice the fresh tomatoes or add the canned tomatoes to the hot oil in the pan and braise. Bring to a boil with the wine and season with sugar and salt, then sprinkle over the balls. Crumble the cheese and mix with the remaining parsley, then pour over the sausages and the sauce. Bake in the oven for approximately 20-25 minutes. Serve warm.
