Cheeseburger with cucumber and tomato

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 4 spring onions
  • 150 g gherkins
  • ½ tsp capers
  • 200 g minced beef steak(s)
  • Salt
  • pepper
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 4 rolls, hamburger
  • 1 tsp horseradish (cream)
  • 1 tsp mustard
  • 1 tbsp tomato ketchup, or chili ketchup
  • 2 tomatoes
  • 4 slices of cheese (Chester slices)

Instructions

Working time approx. 40 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

Finely slice the spring onions. Finely dice 75g of gherkins. Roughly chop the capers. Add the onions, gherkins, and capers to the minced meat. Season with salt and pepper and knead everything into a smooth dough. Form the dough into 4 equal-sized, flat steaks. Fry the hamburger buns for about 6 minutes on each side. Cut the hamburger buns in half. Line a baking tray with baking paper and place the bun halves on top. Mix the horseradish with mustard and ketchup and spread it on the bottom halves of the buns. Thinly slice the remaining gherkins and tomatoes and distribute them over the sauce. Place the hamburger buns on top, top with cheese slices, and bake unfolded in a preheated oven at approx. 200°C (180°C fan-assisted oven) on the second shelf from the top for 8-10 minutes. Place the top bun halves on top of the bottom halves and serve immediately.
