Chicken hearts in spicy sauce

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 250 g heart(s) of chicken or turkey
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 onion(s)
  • 50 g bacon, streaky
  • 2 small onions (shell onions)
  • 1 bay leaf
  • ⅛ liter red wine
  • 1 pack of sauce, gravy
  • 1 tbsp parsley, chopped
  • 1 tsp mustard
  • 1 tbsp tomato ketchup
  • some thyme

Instructions

Working time approx. 45 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes

Wash the chicken hearts thoroughly, removing any white strands. Cut the turkey hearts into small cubes, removing any white parts. Season with salt and pepper. Finely dice the onion. Cut the bacon into strips and fry briefly. Add the onion and heart meat and brown them. Then add the shallots, bay leaf, thyme, and red wine and simmer the dish for 40 minutes over low heat. Whisk together the gravy powder and 1/4 l water, stir in, and bring to a boil. Season with mustard and ketchup, arrange in a bowl, and sprinkle with parsley. Serve with rice and spicy pickled vegetables.
