Gratinated potato dumplings

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 800 g jacket potatoes, freshly cooked and mashed
  • 150 g wheat flour
  • 30 g butter
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 50 g Grana Padano
  • salt and pepper
  • nutmeg
  • 150 g Appenzeller or Gouda, in small cubes
  • ⅛ liter cream

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 50 minutes

Toss the potatoes with flour, butter, egg yolks, and grated cheese. Season with salt and nutmeg. Scoop out dumplings with a tablespoon and let them cook in lightly simmering salted water. After 10 minutes, remove with a slotted spoon and place in a greased dish. Sprinkle with cheese cubes and drizzle with cream. Season with pepper and bake in the oven at 180°C for about 20 minutes. Serve with a thick tomato sauce and salad.
