Cauliflower Macaroni Casserole

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 large cauliflower
  • 250 g pasta (macaroni)
  • salt water
  • 400 g lean smoked pork
  • 30 g butter or margarine
  • 30 g flour
  • 0.38 liters of broth
  • 1 cream cheese spread (1 corner)
  • nutmeg
  • Fat for the mold

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Clean the cauliflower, cut into florets, wash, and cook in salted water. Break the macaroni into pieces and cook in salted water as well. Drain both. Cut the smoked pork into 2 cm pieces. Grease a shallow ovenproof dish. Layer the cauliflower, macaroni, and smoked pork in the dish. Heat the butter, sauté the flour in it, and deglaze with the stock. Bring to a boil briefly, then add the diced processed cheese and season with nutmeg. Pour over the cauliflower, macaroni, and smoked pork mixture. Place the dish in a preheated oven (225°C) and bake until the surface is browned.
