Lime-mint syrup for homemade lemonade

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 200 ml lime juice from about 10 limes
  • 150 g sugar
  • 1 sprig of mint
  • 1 tbsp elderflower syrup, optional

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

for about 250 ml

First, halve the limes and squeeze them thoroughly. Strain the juice into a saucepan and mix with the sugar and elderflower syrup. Heat the liquid gently over medium heat, stirring constantly until the sugar has dissolved. Add the mint and bring the syrup to a boil, stirring constantly. The longer you let it simmer, the more intense the mint flavor will be. Remove the pan from the heat and discard the mint leaves. Pour the liquid into a container and let it cool, then store it in the refrigerator. For a delicious lemonade, pour a little syrup over ice-cold sparkling water. Especially delicious on hot summer days.
