Braised cucumber like Mama Petra's

Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 500 g minced beef or half and half
  • 1 large onion(s)
  • 3 snake cucumber(s)
  • 500 g tomatoes, pureed or chopped
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 tbsp dill, frozen or fresh
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp tomato ketchup
  • salt and pepper
  • Paprika powder

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

fast, easy and inexpensive

First, brown the minced meat in a large pot. Meanwhile, dice the onion and fry briefly. When the minced meat is crumbly and the onions are translucent, add the tomatoes. Peel the gherkins and quarter them lengthwise, also dice them finely, and add them to the pot. Now feel free to season with sugar, salt, pepper, and paprika. Simmer over medium heat for 15-20 minutes, until the gherkins have the desired bite. Finally, stir in the sour cream, dill, and a little ketchup. Heat briefly. Season again with the spices, if desired. Delicious with rice or potatoes.
