Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 250 g berries, fresh or frozen, e.g. raspberries, blackberries, currants, strawberries, blueberries
  • 1 vanilla pod(s), optionally 1 tsp vanilla paste or vanilla extract
  • 100 g sugar
  • 100 ml water
  • ice cubes
  • Mineral water, ice cold
  • Berries, fresh, for decoration

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 8 minutes; Total time approx. 18 minutes

Berry lemonade with vanilla

First, cut the vanilla pod lengthwise and scrape out the seeds using the blunt end of a small knife. Place the seeds and pod in a small saucepan along with the berries, sugar, and water and heat. Simmer gently for 8-10 minutes. Then, strain the mixture through a fine sieve to remove any small seeds and vanilla pod. The syrup is then ready and needs to cool completely. Once the syrup is ready, pour some syrup into a glass with ice cubes and ice-cold sparkling mineral water, and your lemonade is ready. If you like, garnish the lemonade with fresh berries and serve with a straw. Tip: If you want to make an alcoholic drink, bourbon or white rum go very well with it.
