Blackberry syrup

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 500 ml blackberry juice
  • 500 ml water
  • 850 g sugar
  • 20 g citric acid

Instructions

Working time approx. 5 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

First things first: 1 kg of blackberries yields a good 500 ml of juice when juiced. Bring the juice and water to a boil with the sugar until bubbling. Continue boiling for 3 minutes and then add the citric acid. Once the 3 minutes are up, pour the syrup into hot, rinsed bottles and seal the bottles. The time may vary depending on the quantity. If the berries need to be juiced first, it will take longer. Mixed with mineral water to taste, it makes a refreshing summer drink.
