Kale refined

Spread the love

Ingredients for 3 servings:

  • 1 jar kale
  • 1 ½ tsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp mustard
  • 1 tbsp fat (butter/lard)
  • 1 onion(s), diced
  • 1 pinch(s) nutmeg
  • 1 pinch(s) of salt and pepper
  • 1 handful of bacon cubes
  • 2 Mettwurst (Knacker)
  • n. B. water

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

Sauté the onion in a pan with fat until translucent. Add the bacon cubes. Add the kale and a little water to prevent it from burning. Season to taste with sugar, mustard, salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Simmer on low heat for at least 30 minutes, or longer is better, adding a little water as needed. Tip: It can also be prepared a day in advance. The longer the kale is allowed to simmer, the better. I always use brand-name kale, as I’ve found it to be significantly better than others.
