Tomato ketchup with low sugar

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 600 g tomatoes, pureed
  • 200 g tomato paste
  • 2 onions
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 6 tsp sugar
  • 4 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • n. B. Salt
  • chili powder

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Dice the onions and sauté them in a pan with olive oil until translucent. Add the sugar and let the onions caramelize. Then deglaze the caramelized onions with the apple cider vinegar and add the passata and tomato paste. Let the tomatoes simmer for about 7 minutes and season with salt, sugar, apple cider vinegar, and a touch of chili.
