Ribbon pasta with fresh tomato sauce and turkey skewer

Ingredients for 3 servings:

  • 400 g turkey meat
  • 1 m.-sized onion(s)
  • 150 g mushrooms, fresh
  • 1 red bell pepper(s)
  • 1 bell pepper(s), yellow
  • 1 kg cocktail tomatoes
  • 300 g tagliatelle pasta
  • salt water
  • some salt and pepper
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • Herbs of your choice (e.g. basil)
  • some butter
  • 4 tbsp water

with a very simple but delicious tomato sauce made from cocktail tomatoes

For the skewers, dice the turkey. Slice the mushrooms into slightly thicker slices. Quarter and slice the onion. Rinse the red and yellow bell peppers and also slice them. Layer the ingredients on skewers as desired, season, and sear well on all sides in a pan. The meat should be cooked thoroughly, but not overcooked, as otherwise it can quickly become too dry. While the tagliatelle and tomato sauce are being prepared, keep the skewers warm in the oven at 50°C. Cook the tagliatelle in salted water according to the package instructions. Meanwhile, for the tomato sauce, wash the tomatoes and set aside 3-4 tomatoes. Halve the remaining tomatoes and sauté them in a little butter in a deep pan. Add about 3-4 tablespoons of water to the tomatoes, season with salt and pepper. Add the herbs. When the tomatoes are nice and soft and a good sauce has formed, stir in 1 teaspoon of sugar. Finally, add the remaining whole tomatoes and serve with the tagliatelle and skewers. The tomato sauce made with cocktail tomatoes is very popular with children because of its sweetness.
