Bonfire with vanilla pudding icing

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1,000 g apples
  • 7 rolls, old
  • 1 liter of milk
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 pack of pudding powder, vanilla
  • 100 g sugar
  • 2 tbsp raisins
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 30 g butter
  • some salt
  • Walnuts, chopped (about 1 handful)

Instructions

Working time approx. 35 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes

Cut the rolls into slices, whisk 1/2 liter of milk and the eggs, add a little salt, and pour over the bread slices (they must be well softened). Peel and chop the apples, add the sugar (leave 1 tablespoon for the pudding), cinnamon, raisins, and nuts and mix well. Grease a baking dish (approx. 30×20) or slightly larger, then place a layer of bread slices, then a layer of apples, bread slices, and apples on top. Place in a preheated oven at 200 degrees (180°C fan-assisted oven) for 15-20 minutes. Make a vanilla pudding from the remaining milk and add sugar. After about 15 minutes of baking, remove the pyre, pour the pudding over the top, and return it to the oven for another 5 minutes.
