Meatloaf stuffed with cheese

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g minced meat, mixed
  • 250 g minced beef
  • 2 stale rolls, soaked in water, well squeezed
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 onions, diced
  • Salt
  • pepper
  • nutmeg
  • 1 tbsp basil
  • 200 g cheese (Emmental), diced
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1 ½ kg potatoes, peeled, cut into small pieces
  • 250 ml meat broth
  • Salt
  • pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Combine the minced meat, bread rolls, eggs, onions, salt, pepper, nutmeg, and basil, then shape into an oblong loaf and make a long indentation in the top. Fill the loaf with Emmental cheese and press the loaf back together. Grease a roasting pan with oil, place the roast in it, surround it with the potatoes, season generously with salt and pepper, pour in the hot meat broth, and place the roasting pan on the middle shelf of an oven preheated to 220°C for 60 minutes. Serve with mixed vegetables and potatoes.
