elegant side dish alternative to pan-fried dishes

Peel the cooked potatoes and slice them. Fry them on both sides in half the butter until the desired light brown crust forms. Dice the onion as finely as possible, fry separately until translucent, and add it to the fried potatoes. Season with thyme, oregano, salt, and pepper to taste. Press the cooked fried potatoes through a potato ricer and mix in the remaining butter. If you don’t achieve a smooth consistency, add more butter. Milk is not necessary. The mashed potatoes have the typical fried potato flavor, but the extra butter makes them smoother. It also has a different mouthfeel, and you’ll have a taste surprise for your guests.
