Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 500 g spaetzle, dry weight
- 1 jar mushrooms, medium-sized
- 2 m.-sized onion(s)
- 1 cup of cream
- 200 g mountain cheese, grated
- chives
Instructions
Working time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 10 minutes
Cook the spaetzle according to the package instructions. Chop the onions and sauté with the mushrooms, then add the spaetzle. Whip the cream and fold it in. Fold in the grated cheese and let it melt. Serve sprinkled with chives. I serve it with a fresh leaf salad. It’s especially good with homemade spaetzle and fresh mushrooms. Reduced-fat cream substitute works just as well as whipped cream. If you prefer something less hearty, you can replace the mountain cheese with Gouda.
