Fish fillet on a bed of potatoes

Ingredients for 8 servings:

  • 1 ½ kg potatoes, fried, (fried potatoes with bacon and onions, homemade or from the refrigerated section)
  • 6 tbsp oil (olive oil)
  • salt and pepper
  • 60 g breadcrumbs
  • 2 eggs
  • 150 g crème fraîche
  • 2 tbsp mustard (Dijon mustard)
  • 200 g cheese (grated Gouda)
  • 1 kg redfish fillet(s)
  • Paprika powder, sweet

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Spread the fried potatoes in a roasting pan greased with olive oil, and season with more spices if desired. Mix the breadcrumbs with the eggs, crème fraîche, mustard, and cheese. Add a little more milk or cream if the mixture is too thick. Place the cleaned and patted fish on top of the potatoes and spread the egg mixture evenly over the potatoes. Bake in a preheated oven at approximately 200°C (electric oven) / 180°C (fan oven) / Gas Mark 3-4 for approximately 35 minutes. Serve as a side dish: leaf salad.
