Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 750 g green beans, frozen
  • 600 g beef goulash, lean
  • 6 large potatoes, waxy
  • 1 bunch of soup vegetables
  • 2 large onions
  • 3 liters of water, cold
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 1 tbsp black peppercorns
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp savory, dried
  • possibly water, boiling

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 2 hours; Total time approx. 2 hours 20 minutes

Cut the beef goulash into bite-sized pieces and simmer in a large pot with cold water, salt, pepper, and sugar for about 1.5 hours. Peel, wash, and finely chop the soup vegetables, potatoes, and onions. Add everything to the pot along with the beans and savory (the vegetables should be well covered with the broth; if not, add boiling water!) and simmer for another 30 minutes. Finally, season with salt to taste.
