Ingredients for 1 servings:
- 100 ml cream
- 80 g butter
- 250 g sugar
- 4 egg yolks
- 1 packet of vanilla sugar
- 125 g ground almonds
- 125 g hazelnuts, ground
- 250 g flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 250 g dark chocolate, possibly block chocolate
- 4 egg whites
- possibly nougat
- possibly marzipan
Instructions
Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes
also monastery cake, a recipe from Switzerland, easy to make but very good!
Melt the butter and mix with the cream, sugar, egg yolks, and vanilla sugar until sticky. Then add the hazelnuts, almonds, flour, and baking powder to the mixture and mix well. Chop the chocolate block into small pieces (it’s okay if you use larger pieces), add it, and mix well. Finally, beat the remaining 4 egg whites until stiff peaks form and fold into the batter. Bake at 170-180°C (depending on your oven) for about 50-60 minutes. You can tell if the cake is done by inserting a knitting needle or something similar into the cake; if no batter sticks to it, it’s done! You can vary this cake by replacing half the chocolate with something else, such as marzipan or nougat, or simply by replacing the chocolate entirely with something else!
