Spaetzle with Mushrooms & Cheese

The perfect spaetzle with mushrooms & cheese recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 750 g Spaetzle
  • 600 g Creme fraiche Cheese
  • 3 Onions
  • 1000 g Mushrooms
  • 400 g Grated cheese
  • Nutmeg, salt, pepper, paprika
  • Parsley chopped TK
  • Oil
  1. Cook the spaetzle in salted water according to the instructions on the packet. After cooking, pour into a bowl and put some butter on it so that they don’t stick together.
  2. Peel the onions and cut into rings. Clean the mushrooms and cut them in slices. Heat some oil in a pan and sauté the onions until translucent.
  3. Now add the mushrooms to the onions and simmer for 5 minutes, season with salt, pepper, nutmeg and paprika and let simmer for a few more minutes while stirring.
  4. Add the cheese, stir in, finally fold in the spaetzle and simmer for another 5-10 minutes.
  5. Finally, sprinkle some chopped parsley over the top. Makes about 8 servings.
