Albanian Pasul
The perfect albanian pasul recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 300 g White beans
- 500 g Beef
- 2 Pc. Carrots
- 2 Pc. Onions
- 2 tablespoon Flour
- 2 tablespoon Sweet paprika powder
- Oil
- 1 pinch Vegeta
- If you want, you can leave out the meat. Put the beans in a saucepan, pour hot water over them and leave to soak overnight. This will reduce the cooking time.
- If you want meat in your soup, sear it in oil in a saucepan until golden brown. Tilt the water away from the beans, pour new water over the beans so that they are completely covered, put everything in the saucepan with the meat and cook for at least 1-2 hours. In the meantime, peel the carrots, cut them into small pieces and add them to the beans.
- If you don’t want meat, simply boil the beans in fresh water and add the carrots as well.
- Towards the end of the cooking time, peel and chop the onions. Sauté them in a pan in plenty of oil until translucent. The onions shouldn’t turn gold, but should be glassy enough. Add the 2 tablespoons of flour and stir so that the flour dissolves in the oil. Now add the 2 spoons of paprika powder, stir again and sauté for a little while.
- This onion mixture now goes into the pot with the beans. Stir everything well and simmer for another 30 minutes. Season with vegeta and pepper.
- Serves with fresh white bread, white cheese and a fresh salad. Good Appetite
