Chicken Kiev Style with Baked Potatoes

The perfect chicken kiev style with baked potatoes recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

Potatoes

  • 2,5 kg Potatoes
  • Olive oil
  • Paprika powder, soup powder, chili powder

chicken

  • 10 Chicken fillets
  • 10 El Herb butter
  • Panko flour
  • 2 Eggs
  • Pepper salt
  • Toothpick or cord
  • Flour

Potatoes (about 2 hours before eating)

  1. Peel, wash and drain the potatoes. Then cut into slices and place in a large bowl. Now put olive oil in a small bowl and season with paprika powder and soup powder, as well as the chili powder. Season to taste so that you are sure that it is spicy, but not too spicy. Then pour everything over the potatoes and mix well. Take a baking sheet, cover with aluminum foil and cook approx. Put in the oven at 180 ° C for 5 hours before serving. (Since every stove looks different from time to time, that they don’t get too dark and, if necessary, go down to 160 degrees)

Chicken 1-1.5h before eating

  1. Take the chicken and pound it flat with a meat mallet (also works well between foil or freezer pouch). It has to be flat so we can fill it right away. Then put about 1 tablespoon of herb butter in the middle and wrap it in it and close it with 2-3 toothpicks (or with a cord). We’ll do that with everyone first.
  1. Whisk the egg in a bowl and season with salt and pepper. Put some flour in another bowl and the panko breadcrumbs in another bowl. Now set up the breading station: 1. First flour the chicken pieces and then knock them off so that there is not too much flour on them. 2. Place the piece of chicken in the egg measurer and smear well. Finally, wrap it properly with the pankow breading. I then stacked them on a plate

25 Minuten vor dem Essen

  1. Now put some oil in the pan, heat it up and briefly fry the chicken pieces so that the breading gets a nice crispy color. Then put the chicken pieces in a greased casserole dish and put them on a wire rack in the oven (if you have switched the oven down, give it back to 180 degrees. Now leave in for about 20 minutes and enjoy the food 🙂

TIPS

  1. To save time, potatoes can also be peeled in the evening and then left soaked, we do that from time to time.
  1. Of course, you can also make the herb butter yourself. Simply knead butter, herbs that you like and garlic, as well as salt and chilli if you like.
  1. Of course, you can also use other spices instead of soup powder, but it tastes really delicious as a condiment for potatoes and afterwards nobody knows that it’s in it;)
