Delicious Potato Gratin

  • Salt
  • 4 Onions
  • 2 Garlic cloves
  • 4 tbsp Olive oil
  • 10 Sprigs of thyme
  • Pepper
  • 200 ml Milk
  • 1 Msp Paprika powder
  • Fat for the shape
  1. Preheat the oven to 190 degrees. Grease a gratin dish and set aside.
  1. Peel the potatoes and cut into 1/2 cm thick slices. Cover with cold water in a large saucepan, add salt and bring to a boil. Cook for about 10 minutes, until the slices are just tender. Drain and set aside.
  1. In the meantime, peel the onions and garlic. Cut the onions into slices, finely chop the garlic. Heat the oil in a pan, add both to the pan and cook for about 15 minutes until the onions are translucent.
  1. Pluck the thyme leaves from the stalks and chop. Put a layer of potatoes in the pan. Sprinkle with thyme, salt and pepper and cover with onions. Repeat this process twice. Finish with onions. Pour milk over everything and sprinkle with paprika. Bake for about 25 minutes (gas 3; convection 170 degrees) until the potatoes are lightly browned and serve immediately.
