Whiskey and Chocolate Paving Slabs
The perfect whiskey and chocolate paving slabs recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 100 g Cream
- 200 g Chocolate 70% cocoa
- 1 Vanilla pod, the pulp
- 2 tbsp Soft butter
- 2 tbsp Whiskey
- Cocoa powder slightly de-oiled
- First, line a small square shape with cling film. Roughly chop the chocolate. And place in a bowl. Put the cream in a saucepan and add the vanilla pulp and then bring both to a boil once and then pour over the chocolate.
- Now stir everything vigorously until the chocolate has dissolved. Then add the butter and stir in vigorously. Now the whiskey is added and this is also mixed in well. The mass should be really nice and smooth and shiny and contain absolutely no lumps. Better to stir a little longer.
- Now put the mixture in the square form, stuck the form on the table a few times so that any air bubbles disappear. Smooth out the mixture, close the mold and then place in the refrigerator for at least 12 hours.
- Then put some cocoa powder in a small, shallow bowl. Take the truffle mixture out of the refrigerator and out of the mold. Now cut small cubes from the block with a sharp knife. The mass then breaks in different places and you get different shapes.
- Some are smaller, some are slightly larger and they look like the stones on the cobblestones. We like it that way and there is something for everyone, some prefer the treats in small form, others a little bigger.
- If you want pieces that always look exactly the same, you should take the mixture out of the refrigerator about 20 minutes beforehand. Then roll the paving stones in cocoa and store them in tin cans, placing parchment paper between each layer.
- It is advisable to use a high-quality chocolate for this. From the one with the purple cow and the practical square chocolate and the like. I would rather advise against it. First, I think it doesn’t taste great, and second, it doesn’t have such a wonderful consistency. And especially if you want to give these things away, that’s particularly important.
