Side Dish: Apple Red Cabbage
The perfect side dish: apple red cabbage recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 1 handful Onions
- 1 handful Oil
- 2 Glasses Red cabbage
- 1 size Apple
- 1 size Rice syrup
- Salt and pepper
- Sprinkle lemon
- 2 piece Bay leaves
- 0,5 tsp Ground cinnamon
- 0,5 liter Apple juice
- Brown the cut onion in a little oil, add the glasses with the red cabbage to the onions, rinse the glasses with the apple juice and then bring everything to a simmer.
- Peel the apple (or 2 small ones), grate roughly, add the spices, stir everything together, put the lid on and then everything should simmer gently for 45 – 60 minutes.
- This time I made it WITHOUT bacon because I froze it in, otherwise I like to add a good portion of bacon.
- Let the red cabbage steep for one night, to do this it can stay overnight on the balcony and then freeze in freezer bags and in portions.
