Redwine Onions

The perfect redwine onions recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 400 g Red onions
  • 4 tbsp Sugar
  • 300 ml Red wine
  • 200 ml Port wine
  • 2 Branches Thyme
  • 1 tbsp Cold butter
  • Sea-Salt
  • Pepper from the grinder
  1. Peel the onions and cut into thin wedges. Caramelize the sugar in a light brown saucepan. Deglaze with red wine and port wine. Wash the thyme and add to the saucepan with the onions, simmer for about 15 minutes. Stir in cold butter and season with salt and pepper.
