Descale the dishwasher properly

  • You will find a larger selection of professional descaling agents in drugstores, supermarkets, and online shops.
  • The descaler is available both in liquid form and as tabs. Some of the liquid descalers can be hung in the basket of the dishwasher.
  • Be sure to observe the information on the packaging. A wash cycle at around 60 degrees is often recommended.

Descale the dishwasher with household products

  • If you don’t want to buy an additional cleaner, you can also get rid of the limescale with home remedies. Citric acid and vinegar essence are particularly suitable here.
  • If you find stubborn limescale deposits, boil some water and add one tablespoon of citric acid or vinegar essence per liter of water. Allow the mixture to cool slightly and pre-treat the affected areas with a sponge or cloth.
  • Then put about 10 tablespoons of the citric acid or vinegar essence in the dishwasher and start a program at 60 degrees. If the dirt is heavier, select a slightly longer program.
