  • 3 eggs
  • 200 g flour
  • 2 tsp, leveled baking powder
  • some flavoring (lemon flavor), a few drops
  • some milk, if necessary
  • 5 apples, sour
  • Fat for the mold
  • Breadcrumbs for the mold
  • Powdered sugar for sprinkling
  • possibly cinnamon
  • possibly apricot jam for brushing

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

quick batter, very easy, also suitable for baking beginners

Beat the margarine with the sugar and vanilla sugar until fluffy. Add the eggs and continue beating until fluffy. Add a few drops of lemon flavoring, then add the flour and baking powder while stirring. Continue beating until the batter is smooth; if it’s too thick, add a little milk if necessary. Pour the batter into a greased 26cm springform pan dusted with breadcrumbs. Peel, core, and quarter the apples. Lightly score the apple quarters lengthwise with a knife and place them on the batter. Press in lightly. Bake the cake in a preheated oven at 170°C for 35-40 minutes. It’s best to bake on the lowest rack so it doesn’t overcook. Then let it cool and dust with powdered sugar, if desired. It’s also delicious with a sprinkle of cinnamon or spread with some runny apricot jam. Or as a dessert with some whipped cream and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Our family has been baking this apple pie for ages and it’s so popular because it’s so quick to prepare and always turns out well.
