Leberkäse goulash

Ingredients for 3 servings:

  • 3 slices of Leberkäse
  • 1 m.-sized onion(s)
  • 3 m.-large bell pepper(s), red and yellow
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 200 ml vegetable stock
  • 3 tbsp tomato paste
  • salt and pepper
  • Herbs, as desired
  • oil

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Dice the Leberkäse (liver sausage) and fry in a little oil. Finely chop the onions and bell peppers, add them, and fry briefly. Add the broth and simmer, covered, for about 10 minutes. Then stir in the sour cream and tomato paste, bring back to a boil, and season with herbs and spices to taste. You may need to add a little more broth; I usually get by with 200 ml. We like this best with mashed potatoes. Rice or pasta also works. If you replace the Leberkäse with sausages, you get a sausage goulash.
