Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 2 cans of sauerkraut
- 8 Nuremberg bratwursts, Nuremberg
- 3 onions
- Fat (Palmin or onion lard)

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

Fry the sausages in a little fat in a pan until nicely browned, then remove from the pan. Set aside. Fry 3-4 chopped onions in the sausage fat until crispy. Then add the sauerkraut to the pan with a little Palmin, or even better, onion drippings. Fry the cabbage until nicely browned. Place the sausages on top of the cabbage and heat through again. Serve with homemade mashed potatoes as usual.
