Sauerkraut with mashed potatoes

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 can sauerkraut
  • 1 large red bell pepper(s)
  • 1 large onion(s)
  • 500 g potatoes
  • ¼ liter of milk
  • some butter
  • Salt
  • oil

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

First, peel the potatoes, cut them into chunks, and boil them in salted water until tender, then drain. Warm the milk. Mash the potatoes and add the warm milk and a generous knob of butter. Whisk and season with salt. Bring the sauerkraut to a boil with a little water and simmer for a while. Finely dice the bell pepper and onion and fry them in a pan with oil. Add the sauerkraut and mix everything well, seasoning with salt. Then simply fold in the mashed potatoes.
