Have a drink with serrano ham

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 ½ kg beans (broad beans) as small as possible, fresh and unpeeled
  • 250 g ham (Serrano), mild smoked bacon is also fine
  • 2 m.-large leek(s)
  • 4 tbsp olive oil
  • salt and pepper
  • some parsley, chopped

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 50 minutes

Broad beans with ham

Shell the beans. Dice the onions and ham. Combine everything in a pan with the oil over low heat and sizzle gently for about 15-20 minutes. The beans should be tender, but still have a bit of a bite. Season with salt and freshly ground pepper, and sprinkle with parsley. Serve with baguette for a typical Spanish starter.
