delicious orange dessert from Portugal

Translated, “Queijada” means cheesecake, but it’s more like a pudding or flan. Whisk together butter, sugar, milk, and vanilla sugar. Stir in the eggs, orange juice, and zest. Finally, add the flour and stir until the mixture is lump-free. Pour into a greased dish (e.g., a 26 cm springform pan or a casserole dish of similar capacity) and bake at 180°C (top/bottom heat) for about 45-55 minutes, depending on the oven, until the mixture has set. It’s important that the dish is airtight so that nothing spills out. The dessert will rise in the oven and shrink again once it’s outside—this is normal. Remove from the oven and immediately sprinkle with 1-2 tablespoons of the cinnamon-sugar mixture. Let cool and store in a cool place until ready to serve. Cut into slices and serve. The mixture has a pudding-like consistency and can also be baked in muffin tins. Unfortunately, I can’t give an exact baking time for this, but it will be shortened accordingly. This dessert can easily be prepared the day before.
