Broccoli with prosciutto

Divide the broccoli into florets, peel the stalks if necessary, and cut into bite-sized pieces. Cook the vegetables in plenty of salted water for 8-10 minutes until al dente. Then drain the broccoli in a sieve and let it steam off. Peel the garlic and press it down with a fork or knife. Melt the lard in a large pan and roast the garlic cloves in the hot fat until golden brown. Then remove the cloves from the pan. Cut the cooked ham into thin strips and fry in the hot fat. Then add the broccoli and toss with the ham. Season to taste with freshly ground pepper and a little salt if desired. Let it simmer for a few minutes and then divide between plates.
