Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 5 king prawns
  • 2 onions, grated
  • 500 g tomatoes, pureed
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 2 tbsp tomato ketchup, this saves sugar and spices like clove(s) and cinnamon, but you can also omit them
  • oil
  • 300g spaghetti
  • some white wine

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Of course you can also use normal-sized shrimp

Devein the prawns using a skewer and wash them under running water. Pat them dry with kitchen paper. Heat about 100 ml of oil in a pan. Add the prawns and onion and fry until the prawns are reddish brown and the onion is golden yellow. Now add the tomato paste and fry for another 1 minute. Deglaze with white wine and add the passata and ketchup or seasoning and reduce the heat slightly. Simmer uncovered until the prawns are cooked and the sauce has combined with the oil. This will take 15 to 30 minutes, depending on the water content of the tomatoes. Cook the spaghetti in salted water until al dente and keep warm. When the prawns are done, add them to the pan and serve.
