Halva (with semolina)

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 2 cups water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup semolina
  • ¼ cup oil
  • 150 g ground almonds

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Boil the water and sugar. Toast the semolina, oil, and almonds in a nonstick pan. Then add the mixture to the sugar water and cook, stirring continuously, until the mixture thickens. Then let it cool and pour into molds. Note: This mixture is perfect for filling things like yeast rolls, puff pastry, etc. I used this mixture for “my” poppy seed pierogi.
