Italian Bolognese sauce

Spread the love

Ingredients for 3 servings:

  • 500 g minced meat
  • ½ pack of tomato puree
  • 2 large tomatoes
  • 1 large onion(s)
  • 1 garlic clove(s)
  • 5 tbsp oregano, fresh, possibly more or dried
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 30 minutes

Dice the tomatoes, onion, and garlic. Mix the onion with the minced meat in a bowl and season with salt and pepper. Form the minced meat into small balls and fry them well in a pan with oil over medium heat. Add the tomato puree, garlic, and oregano, and stir well. Then add the fresh tomatoes and season with salt and pepper. Cover and simmer the sauce over medium heat for about 20 minutes. The Bolognese sauce tastes even better if you let it simmer on low heat with the lid closed for about 1-2 hours… But it tastes very good as it is.
