Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 500 g minced meat, mixed or beef
- 2 onions
- 1 clove(s) garlic
- some butter
- 100 ml water
- 1 tbsp spice mix (Quatre Epices), optionally mixed yourself
- ½ bunch parsley, chopped
- Thyme
- salt and pepper
- 25 g breadcrumbs
- 1 jar beans (green beans, approx. 350 g)
- 1 jar Mediterranean tomato sauce (e.g. Arrabiata, Neapoletana or similar), to taste)
- 1 pinch of chili
- 1 tsp all-spice
- 1 tsp white pepper
- 1 tsp nutmeg
- 1 tsp ginger, grated
Instructions
Working time approx. 5 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes
Finely chop the onions and garlic, then fry them together in butter in a pan. Then deglaze with water and simmer for 10 minutes. Add the spices and breadcrumbs and fry briefly. Finally, add the beans and the Mediterranean tomato sauce and let it simmer briefly. Adjust the consistency of the liquid with a little water; it’s a good idea to rinse out the sauce jar to use up any leftover sauce. You can also swap the broad beans for a can each of corn and kidney beans if you want to explore the Mexican version of the recipe. Other additions are also conceivable, depending on your taste. If you can’t find the spice mix, you can make your own from allspice, white pepper, nutmeg, and ginger.
