Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 500 g wheat flour
  • 20 g yeast
  • 300 ml water, lukewarm
  • 50 g walnuts
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tsp salt

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Rest time approx. 2 hours; Cooking/baking time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 2 hours 45 minutes

Place the flour in a mixing bowl. Mix the yeast with just under 300 ml of lukewarm water. Break or chop the walnuts into small pieces. Mix the yeast water, walnuts, olive oil, and salt into the flour, knead vigorously into a dough, and let rest, covered, for 2 hours. Sprinkle the dough with flour, knead again, and form into two logs. Grab the logs at both ends and stretch them into long loaves. Place them on a baking sheet lined with baking paper, cover with a slightly damp cloth, and let them rise for 30 minutes, until the loaves have doubled in size. Preheat the oven to 200°C (fan oven) and bake the ciabattas for 25 minutes until light brown (spray heavily with water several times).
