Bruschetta – Bread

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • ½ cube of yeast
  • 600 ml water, lukewarm
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 950 g flour (wheat flour)

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 20 minutes

Crumble the yeast into a bowl. Mix the water and oil together, pour over the yeast, and stir until dissolved. Add the salt and flour. Knead the ingredients thoroughly into a smooth dough. Dust the dough with flour. Cover and let it rise for 45 minutes. Dust a baking sheet with flour. Knead the dough again on a floured surface and divide it into quarters. Shape each piece into a round loaf and place it on the sheet. Cover the loaves and let it rise for 30 minutes. Preheat the oven to 225°C (425°F). Cut several times lengthwise into the loaves with a sharp knife. Bake on the bottom rack of the oven for about 30 minutes. Let cool on a wire rack. The preparation of the topping (tomatoes, etc.) has been described here several times before!
