Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 onion(s)
  • 200 ml Marsala
  • 125 ml broth
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • n. B. Thyme
  • 4 slices of veal knuckle
  • Fat for frying
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Season the slices of veal shank with salt and pepper, then sear them well on both sides in hot fat. Peel and finely dice the onion, and add it to the meat. Fry briefly, then add the tomato paste. Stir and sauté briefly, reducing the heat. Now add the Marsala and stock, then add the thyme. Braise in a preheated oven at 180°C with the lid closed (preferably in a roasting pan) for approximately 1 to 1.5 hours. Serve with tagliatelle, Italian bread, or baguette, and fresh spinach or zucchini.
