Strawberries with crème fraîche and dark bread

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g strawberries
  • 1 cup crème fraîche
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • n. B. Bread(s), dark, a few slices

Instructions

Quarter the strawberries, whisk the crème fraîche until smooth, and pour over the strawberries. Sprinkle with sugar. Serve with a few slices of dark bread. Stir at the table and eat with a spoon like cold soup. During strawberry season, this dish is not a dessert in Ukraine, but a refreshing meal in its own right on hot summer days. It can be eaten for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Dark bread is a must.
