Instructions
Working time approx. 1 hour; Cooking/baking time approx. 1 hour 30 minutes; Total time approx. 2 hours 30 minutes
Mix the ingredients for the Cajun seasoning in a small bowl. Stir together all the marinade ingredients in a bowl. Cut the beef into strips and marinate for at least 30 minutes. Heat the oil in a large soup pot or Dutch oven over medium heat. Add the beef strips and cook on both sides until browned. Do not overcrowd the pot; cook in batches if necessary. Add the beef broth with all the herbs, spices, and sauces. Stir well and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to medium and simmer uncovered for about 1-1.5 hours, until the beef is tender, stirring occasionally. For the shrimp, mix the ingredients in a suitable bowl and marinate the shrimp. Once the beef is tender, taste and adjust the seasoning if necessary. Cook the spaghetti according to the package instructions. Boil the eggs until soft-boiled or hard-boiled, depending on your taste. Meanwhile, add the shrimp to the beef pot and let stand for five minutes. To serve, divide the noodles among deep plates. Add the beef and shrimp. Pour in the broth. Garnish with halved eggs and chopped spring onions. If desired, add a dash of hot sauce.
