Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 500 g flour, type 550
- 1 egg(s)
- 50 g butter
- ½ cube of yeast
- 200 ml milk, maybe a little more
- ½ tsp salt
- Flour , for editing
- Butter, melted, for spreading
Instructions
Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 50 minutes
Dissolve the yeast in a little lukewarm milk with a pinch of sugar. Put the flour in a bowl, make a well, and add the yeast. Dust with a little flour and let it rise for about 15 minutes. Heat the remaining milk, melt the butter in it, and add it to the flour along with the egg and ½ teaspoon of salt. Knead everything together vigorously until you have a smooth dough. Let the dough rise for about 45 minutes. Dust your hands with flour and shape the dough into cup-sized patties. Place them on a baking sheet lined with baking paper, leaving plenty of space between them as they will still rise a little. Let rise for another 20-30 minutes, brush with melted butter, and bake in an oven preheated to 180°C for about 20 minutes. Remove from the oven and brush with melted butter again. Dalken are a must in our family with beef with dill sauce. As children, we loved them with butter and honey or jam.
